Job Summary
As a Waterproofing Technician, you will install various waterproofing systems on construction sites across central and southern Vancouver Island. This hands-on role is suited for someone reliable, physically fit, and who takes pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities
Load trucks with rolls of drainmat, tools, equipment and supplies as needed, including but not limited to 5-gallon pails of various products for application
Operate forklift to keep truck stocked with 250-gallon barrels of TP-260, etc.
Drive various trucks to different job sites.
Manually drag commercial-grade hose up to 250’ from truck to area to be sprayed.
Install drainmat, insulation, caulking, urethane decking, CFI board, concrete restoration, epoxy floors, and grinding as required.
Operate hand and power tools under supervision.
Perform physical labour, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, kneeling, and standing for long periods, and perform shop maintenance and cleaning.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including PPE use.
Work in a team to complete tasks on time and according to specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate clearly with foremen and other crew members.
Willingness to learn and do all tasks asked by the Crew leader
Eagerness to take on more responsibilities
Report hazards, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor
Document work performed in Construction Clock.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn
Ability to effectively communicate, coordinate and manage assistant technicians on your team
Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
Preferred:
Minimum of one year of hands-on technical experience in coatings and sealants
Occupational First Aid or other safety certifications (e.g., Fall Protection, WHMIS)
Experience working with WorkSafeBC regulations and safety practices
